Mr. Otey is a renowned lecturer and family educator who has inspired and empowered thousands of families for over 30 years. Mr. Otey specializes in supporting families in the area of addiction and recovery. His expertise led him to a career at the Caron Foundation, where he was employed as a Counselor and Coordinator for Family Education Program for 30+ years.

 He has worked with adolescents and their families in every capacity and has shared his deep understanding of addiction with patients and their families.  Mr. Otey gives hope with an understanding of a better life and improved relationships through positive change for the whole family not just in recovery but for families navigating challenging circumstances.

Mr. Otey’s expertise has been shared both nationally and internationally. His ability to reach others, helping them to understand addiction as a disease, which affect each family member, has promoted miracles of recovery. He is also dedicated to supporting parents with children /teenagers/young adults in a transitional period and/or engaging in at-risk behavior.

Mr. Otey is the fifth of nine children and was born in Jamaica, Queens.  He currently lives in Pennsylvania with his wife raising his teenage son after raising two other adult children.  When he’s not supporting families, you will find him in the kitchen cooking for his family.  His favorite meal to cook is lollipop lamb chops with wild rice and brussel sprouts.
